In the heart of historic Sautee Valley in Northeast Georgia, the Old Sautee Store has been a destination for travelers for nearly 130 years. Established in 1873, the store served the local community with general goods and was even the post office for the valley up until the 1940s. The original front portion of the store is today preserved as a museum where visitors can participate in the old time charm of the country general store. Across the road from Old Sautee Store is Greenstone Soap Company, where you'll find an amazing collection of handmade herbal soaps, oils, and lotions. While you’re there, you can see where they make the wonderful all natural products sold in the store, stroll the herb and flower gardens (where they grow many of the herbs used in their products), and see the unique and colorful Folk Art created by Greenstone.
